The Colombia arrival problem
Most visitors figure this out at the airport
Don't be the one scrambling for Wi-Fi at El Dorado at midnight.
No Uber without data
Uber and InDriver are the safest, easiest way out of the airport — fixed fares, no cash, no haggling. Without data you can't open the app, leaving you to figure out local taxis in an unfamiliar city with no pesos.
Roaming hits the moment you land
AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile charge $10–12 per day the instant your phone connects to a Colombian tower — even by accident.
Airport SIM kiosks require a Colombian ID
Local SIMs at Colombian airports require a cédula — a national ID tourists don't have. Most visitors walk away empty-handed.
No way to reach anyone
No data means no WhatsApp, no iMessage, no way to tell your family you landed safely or find your hotel address.
Simple process
How it works
Check your device
Your phone must be eSIM compatible and carrier-unlocked. A carrier-locked phone is restricted to a specific carrier and will not accept a new eSIM. On iPhone: Settings → General → About → Carrier Lock. 'No SIM restrictions' means your device is unlocked. This applies to iPhone XS and newer, and most Android phones from 2020 onwards.
Buy an eSIM
Select your plan, choose how many days you need in Colombia, and checkout securely. Payments are powered by Stripe.
Get your eSIM by email
Your eSIM is delivered to your inbox instantly after purchase. The email includes a one-tap install link — just tap it on your iPhone or Android and the eSIM is added automatically.
Enjoy instant connectivity
Enable your eSIM when you arrive at your destination and get online in seconds. Your regular number stays active.

¹ AT&T caps Day Pass charges at 10 days per billing cycle — a 30-day trip costs the same as 10 days ($120 max).
² Verizon's $100/month international plan may be cheaper than TravelPass for trips longer than 9 days.
³ T-Mobile Magenta/Go5G plans include free 2G data in Colombia — the $5/day pass is only needed for high-speed access.
All three US carriers require an existing qualifying postpaid plan. Carrier prices as of 2025.

Frequently asked questions
Is this a data-only eSIM? Does it include a Colombian phone number?
Yes, this is a data-only eSIM. It provides mobile internet access but does not include a Colombian phone number, voice calls, or SMS. It is designed for travelers visiting Colombia and only works while you are physically inside Colombia — it will not function from outside the country.
Will my phone work in Colombia with this eSIM?
Any unlocked eSIM-compatible phone will work in Colombia. This includes iPhone XS and newer, and most Android phones from 2020 onwards. Your phone must also be carrier-unlocked — a phone locked to a US carrier (e.g. purchased on contract) will not accept this eSIM. To check on iPhone: Settings → General → About → Carrier Lock. If it says "No SIM restrictions," you're good. Once your eSIM is installed, it connects automatically to Tigo or Movistar's 4G/5G network as soon as you land.
Can I buy a SIM card at the airport in Colombia?
Physical SIM cards are available at El Dorado airport in Bogotá and José María Córdova in Medellín, but the process requires a passport scan and can take 30 minutes or more. Our eSIM is installed on your phone before you board and is active the moment you land.
How do I install the eSIM before landing?
After purchase you receive an email with two options: tap the install link for a one-touch install on iOS or Android, or scan the QR code in Settings → Mobile Data → Add eSIM. Installation takes under 2 minutes and can be done at home on your Wi-Fi connection.
Which carriers does this eSIM use in Colombia?
Our Colombia eSIM uses the Tigo and Movistar networks, which together cover all major cities and tourist destinations — Bogotá, Medellín, Cali, Cartagena, Santa Marta, the coffee region (Eje Cafetero), and the Caribbean coast.
What happens if I run out of data in Colombia?
You can purchase an additional plan at any time from your phone. Add a new plan to your cart and complete checkout — your new eSIM arrives by email within minutes.
Why use an eSIM in Colombia?
Buying a local SIM in Colombia requires a cédula or passport scan and can take 30 minutes at a carrier store. Many airport kiosks run out of stock during peak tourist season. Our eSIM is installed at home, activates automatically when you land, and skips every queue. Choose a fixed data plan for light browsing or an Unlimited plan for maps, video calls, and social media all day.
Device compatibility
eSIMs work with iPhone XS and newer, most Android phones from 2020 onwards, and many recent iPads and tablets. Your phone must also be carrier-unlocked — a phone locked to a US carrier will not work. To check on iPhone: Settings → General → About → Carrier Lock. 'No SIM restrictions' means you're good to go.
